Medicare insurance is health coverage tailored to cover individuals. Medicare coverage can be a Medigap policy or Medicare Advantage policy.

Medigap coverage is also called Medicare Supplemental coverage. It is coverage that works hand and hand with Original Medicare, to give more coverage on Part A and Part B. Original Medicare does not cover all healthcare cost so a Medigap or Supplemental policy helps with the gaps in coverage.

Medicare Advantage plans combine Part A and Part B together and often Part D into what is call Part C or Medicare Advantage as one package. You can join an Advantage plan if you are entitled to Medicare Part A and enrolled in Medicare Part B and live in the service area of the plan. Persons with End Stage Renal Disease can’t enroll in an Advantage Plan.
